The video clearly shows what technology is doing to families and people. Everyone's life has been transformed by technological advances but there are positives and negative points of view anyways we will always find that somehow there is always a negative effect.
The presenter starts defining video technology as an extension of the body. Every day we are used to the benefits of technology becoming very difficult to work without it, this situation makes people dependent on technological devices. In this sense the use of technology among members of a family could positively or negatively affect its binding manner. For example, it has been observed that today most children spend, on average time connected to a computer or a cellular (more than any other activity); and they can be multitask people, they listening to the music, receive emails and work on the computers and while they give an eye on facebook.
The presenter mentioned that most parents believe that technology only refers to electronic devices and the Internet and all the web services such a facebook or whats up. but in fact the technology is all around us, the clothes, the music, the way we act and live in a society.
what is certain is that technology affects us in the way we relate, the contact we have with the people becomes impersonal, the perception of time and the development of mental abilities are getting down. To clarify on the point of view of social relations, the presenter shows that people prefer to chat rather than having physical contact with the person, it leads us to think that technology directly affects human emotions.
In the conference the presenter is trying to advice parents to be accountable to the use of technology with their children. as adults is important not to be afraid and give proper use. Social interaction is something that can not be replaced by virtual environments.
